A standard 650 bonneville makes maximum torque at 5500 rpm.That's about 85 mph in top gear.
If you don't spend a lot of time riding at more than 85 mph,there's not much point in fitting hotter cams.
A slower cam can get you more power,more of the time.It just won't make as much power at the high rpm you rarely use.
