I've been taking a break from this site... Obviously... But came across a video this morning that I though you guys would enjoy. Essentially, it's footage of a man with a very funny accent hand-painting a factory Royal Enfield tank. The juxtaposition...

That looks fast to me, but I don't know shit about striping.
It's not that odd, England and (I'm assuming) India have had a long history... |

I don't know shit either, but I was amazed that a mass-production facility would have a lone guy striping by hand. I hope he's paid well, at least by Indian standards.

hahahaha, yeah, he knows he's the shit and is proud of it! He striped that bitch totally oblivious to all the people moving around him, and using the same table as he was etc.

Finally...something Royal Enfield related!
You can see, at certain angles, that the tank has guide stripes laid down and he just goes over them with a bigger brush and a steady hand. Damn cool video.

Man... I could watch that over and over. Its strangely hypnotic. Notice how the striper is 100% focused on what he is doing. Its almost as if a gunfight could be going on around him and he would not even notice.
Aspirational.

That smile at the end, he knows he's the shit. Doesn't even change brushes to do the thin stripes...

He messed up on one part of the thinner stripe on the right side. You can see him look at it and grimace, but his mess up beats my best pinstripe job.
the guys in the back are prolly the two guys that put on the decals for the mass production jobs. Great video thanks!! |
