Great feature....
I cant help but add a tribute to another motorcycle lover and music legend, Duane Allman, R.I.P. ![]() He and fellow Allman Brother, bassist Berry Oakley, both died on their bikes almost exactly a year and mere blocks apart in Macon GA, back in the '70s... .

Didn't Dylan crash on a 500,and injuries put his guitar playing in question? I wonder if that's the bike.

That is a 500, dont know if it's the same one...
Follow Ryan's link & then to the Vintagent post...it (and especially the comments) tell many more details on Dylan and the crash. I was pleasantly suprised to see noted Triumph historian & author David Gaylin left a comment there. .

Through the grapevine i got the notion, perhaps erroneous that Fender used or tried to use dylan for commercial purposes for guitars and amps.
Any chance that could have been possible with Triumph too ? Naturally he liked guitars and motorcycles, but... ![]() Probably that´s just my speculation ![]() Major Dylan, JOMO or TRICOR buffs could know better.

The accident was Dylan’s means of escape from an unendurably fast-paced, pressurized life. As he said in a 1984 interview, “When I had that motorcycle accident . . . I woke up and caught my senses, I realized that I was just workin’ for all these leeches. And I really didn’t want to do that.” . . http://www.americanheritage.com/arti...d-thaler.shtml . . .

Dang. That's a proper Triumph. It's nice to see one without the back end chopped off every once in while. (sigh)

Ryan..thanks for posting that pic..I had actually never seen it...
Paul is a great person who I met the first time a couple years ago, when we did our 5 chapter amca ride up here out of Chico..Have enjoyed his site ever since.. He always has some intresting bits of bike-related history going on...I found out last year, that he had the 33 Velocette that my uncle Mac had imported from Euroope, and my dad had raced for him at that time back in Everett Ma..Whats the odds of that??.....The world gets smaller all the time...;-)...Rick |

I am suprised that nobody mentioned this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367555/
No Direction Home. Great film, Creates an anwser of what might have caused the shift in Dylan. "So, what is the meaning of wearing a Triumph motorcycle shirt on the cover of Highway 61 Revisited? I just like motorcycles.' " |
