Here is a pic of a huge engraving/sculpting project I just finished. This is cast aluminum. Customer had the tank cast with the crucifix in it. I took it from there. Also included is a link a webpage on it. At the bottom of the page, click on "The Process" to see the progress shots of it.
Yes it is very nice work. Do you have any pictures of the pattern used to cast
the tank? Was an actual sporty tank used as pattern or was a pattern made using the tank dimensions? I have always been fascinated by cast aluminum tanks. Just not really sure of the process....

That is quite possibly the most incredible tank I have ever and probably will ever see in my entire life. I am amazed, awed, and jealous all at the same time. Hats off to you, sir.
Otto you are a true Craftsman . The tank is a work of art. I imagine weight is not a issue besides Crocker MC had cast tanks that were 3/8 to 1/2 thick.
