Phil Ross, SuperMax's founder/owner passed away last year. IMO? Good shit, but there are other options/companys if you want to convert to primary belt drive. TK.
I run a silent drive on my panhead. 60K+ miles, no sign of wear on the pullies. The alumuinum pullies from my previous belt drive (Primo) showed noticable wear (rounding off of the teeth) after only 10K miles. I would definitely spend the $$$ for the Supermax drive. You also don't get the annoying "jingle" of the clutch steels with the SilentDrive.
damn hell yeah man im gonna order one for shure i go through prolly 4 pulleys a year runiing open with steel pulleys in florida theres so much road sand
Thank you all for the condolences on the passing of my brother Phil. Phil was, a Harley lover his entire life. The Ross family is carrying on in his stead, and all SuperMax Belt Drives are still available. Just Google on "SuperMax Belt Drives", and you can easily find us on the web.
The kindness and best wishes from Harley riders everywhere has meant a lot to us.
Threadkiller, I am curious to know what you meant by "died of greed", were you referring to Phil, H-D or what? Just interested to know and do you run SuperMax system? And if so what has your experience been with the belt drive?
"Died of greed" is part of TK's signature line. It goes on every post he makes and is not a reference to Phil. Since he references the date of August, 1999 I think he's referring to the introduction of the twin cam as being the date when H-D died from greed. Just a guess.
