I was twenty and just got 4Fed and was making plans to head for Ireland to see if REAL road racing matched my Dad's descriptions. It did and then some!!
My mom shot this picture of me in the summer of '66 with my '62 CH. I had already won a few trophies with it. I was 22 and had just completed my boot camp and tech school, hence the short haircut.
I was holding this thing called a draft card in one hand. it was a great 18th birthday present from the government. I got to see the world and learn to duck bullets very quickly. Had a 48 pan and HAIR.
Boot camp in SoCal. Ended up on a DE. from there on a riverboat up in I Corp in 68 and my introduction to Tet offensive and the real world (or not depending on your point of view).
Riding my own first bike, a Yammi Twin Jet 100, hot shit! Graduated up from my brother's Cushman. Paid for it throwing papers, and cashed it in for a
knuckle basket a couple years later. Been downhill since then!

I was riding Saddelback park on my Yamaha and getting beat in the straights by rich kids on Bultaco's.
