these guys have their shit together.....with the exception of being able to buy parts directly from the website....but i guess that's what keeps them the way they are....i want to purchase a set of "keystone bars" from them and if anyone can help me out it would greatly appreciated.

wow, damn if what you say is right that's ashame....but i still think that the "old school" has been "bitten" by every company out there and that the only true "old school" product's are from the "old school". so i give mad respect to the companies out there like biltwell inc that can make "repro" stuff that is true to the era....i'd buy from em'

Hey, I don't know em, so they may be good guys in general. The fact is that they did rip off their seat hinge design directly from a well known chopper parts maker. But like I said, one mistake doesn't doom you for good, so if you like their stuff knock yourself out.

We did make a seat mount very similar to one out there. I spoke with the fabricator you speak so kindly of and he is a great guy. The mount if compared is similar for sure but side by side there are definite differences, bushings, stainless and gauge material are some.

We also make and are working on an exhaust kit ,forward and mid controls, a Seat pan, a registration tube and other stuff.

We are making Z-bars, Clubmans and Apes too. Everyone does but who was the first and did you buy yours from that guy or someone that ripped him off? I'm not saying its ok to rip off people's ideas or products. It isn't. But your talking about a mount for another part. Just one step up from a bung or fender tab. It fits under your seat and holds it in place.

If we had known it was going to be a problem we would not have done it and will redesign it for sure. Its basically flat bar with 2 tabs welded on the sides. We felt there is a need for an inexpensive good mount out there. Right now it seems as though your choices are $100 or $10. The $10 piece is just that, a $10 piece. The other end is more than I would pay so we made something we could afford. We try and make parts that we use and need at a cost we would buy them at.

Hey, I don't know em,
Then why slam them?

Fact? What is your source? The BW cats are great guys that are in it for all the RIGHT reasons so don't get your panties in a wad and start spewing bs all over the net. They had a big booth at the SOW, you could have easily walked right up and spoke to them, as did the "well known" chopper parts maker.

i dont think the biltwell guys arent claiming to have reinvented the wheel.the vibe i get from them is that they are sick of douche bag "chopper masters"ripping everybody off by making bars and other products and charging the shit out of people for them.even though no prices have really been thrown around it seems that they are offering well built(hence the name)stuff at a reasonable price.i think that your kind of missing the point.

Good prices don't exist with them yet. I hope they do because
I want a set of Keystone bars also. But lets get something to
buy here. So far I am yet another that has left a message with
no reply. Pictures......only so far. They're not ripping anybody off
with that.

This thread is in the wrong place, but worth responding to anyway. We've had some dropped messages due to running several small businesses out of one small shop with a single phone system. We're fixing it. Best bet is email, and Chris can be reached anytime at: info@biltwellinc.com or PM'd on here under the screen name Oklahoma. Sorry if we suck at this so far, we're making this shit up as we go and learning a lot.

As for availability, every product description has an estimated availability date at the bottom. Good stuff takes time to get done right especially when doing production runs not just a one off piece. We ran an ad or two early because we wanted people to recognize the brand at the SOW, and they did. We also thought we'd have more stuff finished by October, but alas, we're a little behind. We put up the availability dates on the web site to try and let everyone see what we're making, and to be real open about when stuff should be available. The first thing to be done looks like the pipe kit which is going to be a bitchin' set of 1 3/4" U-bends and straights along with various tips, so you can cut them up and make your own pipes. We're all pretty stoked on them and quite a few people at the Smoke Out seemed to be too.

Seat bracket has been changed and is on our site if you care. I have spoke with Kevin a few times and he's a great guy. He doesn't talk shit. We are trying to make products for the average guy (like ourselves) that doesn't have $100 to spend on a seat bracket but still wants a solid part. A simple mounting bracket we want to make at an affordable price.

Hope that helps anyone who tried to call and didn't get through, thought we were fuckers or whatever. I'm sure this won't be the only time we do something wrong, in fact I'd bet on it.

Last but not least we are working on the single mom market. We have been doing small runs of shirts but they keep ripping.

Oh well, they look happy. . .
