The title to this thread is the subtitle under "Swap Meet."
Under "misc. for sale" it says "Listings for tools and other misc. items related to the traditional and two-wheeled."
This is an ad in the Misc. section of the Swap meet section:
Jason Jessee The Driven Skate Deck Set (http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79795)
I'm not real into rules or "Forum Police" but skateboard parts? Seriously? Am I THAT old? Skateboard parts are now considered "traditional?" What's next, Legos?

Well , Jason is a fairly well known bike builder as well as an old skateboarder . I think he sort of gets a pass for that one .
I've seen some pretty cool lego chopper sets . . . I guess if it fits the " misc " category even loosely , it shouldn't be a problem .

Don't think JJ is actually the one selling the stuff...but maybe just his name is enough to get a pass? :p

Yeah that's what I meant .
I think the same would apply to someone like Max Schaaf . . . old skate guy , bike builder , he has a few pro models & old decks out there . I can see someone selling something like that on here and it being ( although very loosely ) within the guidelines .
I also say it fits. More than some of the shit I delete from the classifieds.

Somehow skate stuff and scooter( Lambretta and Vespa) stuff is in there because we are/were a part of it, not so much the who part of it.

Jason,
I respectfully disagree. Some of you may have been a part of it, but nobody I've ever known in my 40+ years of riding has ever been a skateboard guy. Just because some of you "are/were a part of it," that hardly makes it traditional.
Perhaps the manifesto and every other thing should be changed to "Traditional motorcycles, and skateboards too, because some of us 'are/were a part of it'."
In the 70's, a lot of guys on choppers were also into disco (may God help them)... does this mean that disco is traditional too?
No Jap bikes (which I'm good with) because they aren't traditional enough, but skateboards are traditional because some of you "are/were a part of it?" How exactly does that work?
I could go on for hours, but you guys will either get it or you won't get it. Early indications are that you will not.

selling a Jessee or a Max board on here would be the same as selling a ness shirt or pin. it is just an item that is linked to a well known builder. I dont think this is the first site guys come to to buy skate decks.... but I would come here to find stuff linked to builders I respect. just my thought

I'm with Nottso on this...and I WAS a skater earlier in life.
I was also a surfer too...so should that mean wetsuits and sticks are OK on here too??? (not in my book!)

Because its our board.
We pay the bills to keep it going and we run this board the way we see fit.

Side Note: ***Only four people complained about it. We may be swayed if more of the community complained***

Seriously , you guys don't need to sweat the little shit like this . . .
I understand if you think it's lame , then ignore it .
As long as it doesn't destroy the functionality or usability of the board somehow , or completely piss off the owners ( who pay the bills ) then really who gives a fuck ?
