"Sticky" means "invisible" in asian, I just know it.
Been up there since July - The Jockey Journal: Direction & Changes (http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40464).

...so Honda thread deleted again. I don't understand why (no PM's from a moderator). Triumphteer (http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/member.php?u=9955) was nice enough to send me this:
they deleted because posts about jap bikes are not allowed. only american, brit, euro, and ??? posts. "traditional chopper/bobber" stuff.
it is all arguable. but there are tons of jap bike sites to post on. just the rules here, like it or not. i am sure they will let you know your mis-step. they are not shy with the brow beatings.
Is this for real? I've only been off the board for three months, when did this happen? This is the board that turned me onto XSs, CBs, etc... Bought my first XS from a member even...
I looked for a sticky talking about this and couldn't find one, could someone fill me in?
Also, any other cheap "american, brit, etc..." bikes out there for me to look for to mod then? Again just looking for something to learn on and make cool for under $1200 (purchase price)...

He said he's been off the board for Three Months.
Anyways, there was a sticky for a while about the board taking a new focus or direction. Looking more at classic American and British bikes. There's some great Jappo and CB forums out there though.

you mean this aint the jappy journal? thats kind of lame-o, thought most guys on here were into bikes of all origins....must have something to do with the economy....at least that's what everyone else blames everything on...

People got tired of putting the bike posted in all the check out my new CB/XS/KZ bobber threads into the funny/ugly bike thread. It was like shooting fish in a barrel so the mods decided to make us have to actually search the interweb to find these gems.

Wow, that sucks. Would I like to ride something more "acceptable"? Sure, but for now I'd rather lay down a cheap jap bike...
Sucks because this forum was great for searching out all different makes of bikes that were, for the most part, of the same heart. Backyard bobbers and cafe racers with some higher end garage work for inspiration here and there.
That's why I had bookmarked it even. Oh well, off to haunt some other board I guess...

Yes its for real. I feel where your coming from, but if I saw another xs650 chop whatever I was gonna freak out. Just the way it is. Like said above, plenty alternatives if you dont like it. Its the internet for fucks sake.

yep Communism is alive and well even on the INTERNET
There are two stickies concerning this at the top of the New Members section, so in your case it's understandable that you missed it. Although plenty of new members completely ignore them anyway.

Shouldn't the type of bike you own dictate which internet forum you visit, rather than the other way around?

I am looking for a $1200 or less bike I can learn on and make a cool bobber out of. I don't really give a crap who made it. I asked about a brit, american etc... here because that is all this forum talks about now. I asked about Rebels and others on other forums now...

^^I really don't give a crap what "image" this or that bike gives off UNLESS there is a legitimate reason other than opinion for not owning it.
Hence my original inquiry into the Rebels (and lack of seeing them on here) which turned out to be nothing more than personal preference, from what I have read so far, which is actually the answer I was originally looking for...

Yeah, that's cool. I've just bought a cheap Jap project myself, and when it's done I'll be proud of it. I just won't bother showing it off around here, that's all.
Shame you missed all the drama a couple of months ago, it was quite entertaining!
And you're right, nothing wrong with Rebels, unless you're very tall.

^^Yeah, I bet it was, lol. It is a shame but what are you going to do, it is the owner's site and that's that. It was just the first of any site (car forums I go to, and sponsor, included) that actually just had a certain feel to their bikes that linked everyone together instead of ridiculous brand pride (like anyone really had anything truly to do with the companies that manufactured these bikes for them to act prideful of)... Anyways, cup of worms that I am sure has come and gone and I have no urge to get into, like I said people who own the site can do as they will, it is just disappointing but it is also just one site on the web...

No jap bikes. Including the now classic, early '70's Honda 750 diggers.
But the shop DOG thread is alive and well with 1000+ views...
All is not lost, I guess?

I think that there is a BIG difference between a well done goosenecked digger showbike from the "real" chop era and a Honda Rebel and I can't believe anyone is trying to compare the two. Especially when his two other threads were already deleted as will this one. Unfortunately, I don't think that you'll find anyone (even on a Jap specific board) that will tell you that the Honda Rebel is a great bike, because they honestly do suck. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a hate crime, it's not because they're Japanese, but because they are poorly built cheap designs. If you're going to buy a Jap bike, buy a good reliable one, and then post your heart out on a Jap bike board. As far as the dog thread is concerned, my dogs are way more reliable than a Honda Rebel.
