View Full Version : Question on waiting on someone for payment
Hi, All
I have a question. I have posted a FS in the other board and I had a quy that really wanted an item and he said that he would paypal right away but he was next in line if the first guy didn't want it. Well the first guy backed out and I let him know and he had me get shipping prices and I told him and he said that he would take it so I sent him my paypal address and he has yet to get back with me that was 2 days ago. So my question is this how long do I wait before I go to the next person?
Thanks

If you have people "in line", you should let them all know.
Who's-ever 'up' should be told "more people want this, please paypal within 24 hours (or some period you decide on) or I will go to the next buyer". Of course this after you have the shipped-total.
You're the seller, you set the terms.
Obviously if you are dealing with someone sending a money order there will be a time factor, but the instant nature of Paypal makes it easier for both parties, so it should be easy to set parameters.

One thing I keep in mind when I'm selling parts on JJ is the possible situation of the buyer. Is he waiting till payday to get funds; did he commit to buy on a Friday but is probably out of town over the weekend; is the only way he visits JJ is at work, so he can't access email afterhours or at home, etc, etc...If you are getting zero communication from the buyer, then Id go to the next one. Selling on this board is like selling to friends IMO. You give them a bit more slack than on eGay or elsewhere. If you are past your comfort level with this buyer, then give him a deadline and if it passes, go the the next in line. They are your parts and you make the terms of the sale.

2 days? Maybe he took his bike on a weekend trip.

We dont police the classifieds, so its really up to you to sell, or settle your own deals.
If you have a problem with the "Jock Shops" then we try to help.
