logged out when I post

Is it standard procedure to be logged off after pressing the send button, not only that, the whole spiel is deleted, if I forget to save the spiel when going back to re read a reply, or find a link to add, when I click back to my answer it's gone!
I don't write the same good shit I just wrote which was wiped because I'm pissed off that I just wasted 1/2 hour to reply or answer someone in detail.
