so earlier today i posted the xs bike i built in the classifieds and within 10 minutes it was deleted.

i respect that this forum has tried to remain true to what it's creators' initial intention was. while i really enjoy the older bikes and the brit stuff, i don't own a running one and dont have the cash to at any time soon. anyway my point was that for a long time i found this place to be a tremendous source of inspiration. i cant say i spent countless hours making super swell parts on the XS build, but i can say that i built it out of the inspiration i got from seeing what a lot of you guys have done. i realized that the XS was just not what i want to focus on and thought that this might be a good place to offer what i think to be anyway, a nice bike at a fair price for someone on here that perhaps doesnt have the cash or other resources to get into the old iron or british stuff.

so i wasnt surprised to see it removed, but i am a bit curious that it's ok for guys to sell "custom built" flyrites, 92 evo's, etc. what's with the double standard?

anyway i dont post on here much anymore because i dont have the knowledge of the older stuff to really help anyone - which is what i thought these boards were about. funny thing is, i always considered this place to be a great source for knowledge and ideas for all sorts of things no matter what the make. i understand you dont want classifieds for all makes and models under the sun, i guess i woulda thought that someone trying to sell something that they made from inspiration on this very forum to someone on this forum at a fair price might have some leeway. but guys with 8 posts are able to bump and bump and bump their bought 2005 custom?

1) The guidelines are clear, posted in Sticky threads on every page of every board.

2) You stated in your listing you knew the policy and would understand if deleted.

3) You went on to smokescreen-title it as "Triumph/BSA wannabe bro bike".

I sometimes wonder if anyone notices or keeps track of how many store-bought 300-tired 'chops' and new-ish stock baggers FS we delete.

We dont have time to counsel every one individually, those so obviously Not (as stated on the index) "traditional artifacts"; but especially when it concerns a recent and widely known policy.

Or time to debate on-board what qualifies every bike; there is no HAMB-like clear line drawn like pre-'65.....Pre-evo would make the most sense but there is no such guideline, so we (several of us) make the best screening possible of "traditionally inspired" for the gray areas, and simply deal with the clearcut.
