How 'bout a separate forum where people can list services they would offer other Journalists? No, not a massage with "Happy Ending" Hal Wade, I know what you are thinking.
There are a ton of talented people on here who do stuff we can all use. From guys like Irish Rich who can basically turn water into wine from what I'm told, to Caffiene's striping skills, to Altered Pilot's paint jobs, Trent's fab skills, E2's leather work, Mcotie's mind-blowing art, Trumpnut & Wes' Brit knowledge, I can do mediocre graphic design, yada, yada, yada.
I don't have a mill, but I know buying a set of Timken adapters from GumbyChuck was cool, and he was nicer than the dicks at my local shop anyway. I've done business with at least half a dozen JJ people over the last few months and so far it's been a fair deal every time.
Not trying to make a big official deal out of it, just a place where people can list the shit they do so some of us can take advantage of it and keep the business in the family so to speak. We already sell each other parts, why not services? Maybe each dude gets a thread for whatever he does and then others can keep it on-topic and post their feedback on there to give people an idea about how quality/shipping/etc was handled.
