Suggestion Box.

Firstly, let me say thanks for providing this site, and a special thanks to Dragon for consolidating all the pic threads.

I'd like to put forward the following suggestions.

1. There are over 9000 registered users in the JJ. Almost half have never made a post. Now that the spammers are hitting PM's, should all these non-posters be cleaned out?

2. On the consolidated threads, some of which go for many pages, can you delete all the "that's killer" posts and leave only the posts that actually add to the thread.

3. For all the users, please clean out your PM boxes. They aren't for personal e-mails or free file storage and take up valuable space on the servers. Don't forget to get rid of your sent Msgs as well.

4. Please keep your posts bike related. I'm sorry if your dog has died :(, but I don't want to know about it. And if you've heard some nifty song on the radio, go to the nifty song forum and yak about it there.

5. Can we have a separate "Intro" box on the front page. If we can't, people please, let em die. If someone says "Hey I'm Knob Jockey, and I'm new here", let's have an official greeter, they can say "Hello, Welcome, please feel free to start a thread about your bike. Oh, you haven't got one, then fuck off until you do." That way we won't have "Hello" threads started in July that hang around until September, propped up by douches who signed up in June.

Already have that.

Note below the text area where you fill out a new or reply Private message, there are boxes to check (sometimes are pre-checked) for "include signature", "save a copy in sent folder", but also "Request a read receipt for this message".

If you check that one about "read receipt" then you get a link on the main PM page (mine says "You have 3100 confirmed and 8 unconfirmed private message receipts.") that gives you a table of messages with "sent" and "read" date/times, and below it a list of the un-read ones.

My suggestion is to bring back the 100 post rule before allowed to sell in the "for sale" section. HERE!!-HERE!!

Its not going to happen. We arent going to pay much attention to the classifieds other than keeping it motorcycle related.
The classifieds are at "Your Own Risk"

If a bad deal happens we dont want to hear about it either.

In addition, coming to this board to hock stuff isnt too welcomed. For new people coming here, learn about this board, make friends and help out. Contribute technically and it will go a long way.

But they (Classifieds) will be kept in compliance with the existing rules in the Stickies, re early bumps by sellers & discussion-type bumps that are a detriment to others' listings.
