What are these problems you speak of? If anything, the members can at least see a history of the seller or buyer, and see whether they are a scum bag or not. Buying and selling in the classified section here you have no idea who you are dealing with. I don't under stand this policy.

I believe the Administrator who answered your question was saying: It's the policy here. Our Classifieds are for individual's dealings, not ebay or craigs' listings.
And we're not clueless when it comes to normal listings either. As is why yours was pulled last time, selling your wheels here with the exact same pic as from your ebay listing as detailed (with your "ebay problems") here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47852/message/1215613409/2005+FatBoy+wheels%2C+rear+pulley+and+brake+rotors
Either sell on ebay or sell to our members, not both.

I posted a link on here earlier today to a bike/parts for sale on eBay.
the post has been deleted.....Why?
is that a problem to let other jjer's know about something for sale?
When I posted the link I made sure to mention that I was not the seller, but the basket case looked like a good deal and something that might be of use to any one of many people here.

Craigs and ebay "find" link-posts have always been taken down here. Ryan wants a tech-oriented board not a sales site. Likewise, we dont allow Craigs or ebay sales on Classifieds, just members' posts.
If there's some historic / vintage bike on ebay and someone copies pics and there's subject for discussion, those have been OK.
But just "look what's on Craigs, not mine" posts would overrun the place.
There was another posted and reposted today about Chorro's Pan (ebay link-only). There's an existing long thread about that bike already, any new discussion can go there.

I thought it was any post using the term "ebay" without even a link. For example: messages decribing phoney parts without a link, etc. Those posts have been deleted in the past as well.

Let's check the records.
Recently (11/14/08), you had a "not mine" Craigslist "find" post deleted.
By the Administrator.
Over a year ago your "Ebay mis-representation alert " (http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27111) thread was closed not deleted (again, by the Admin).
And, historically, any threads complaining about ebay bad deals or bad sellers, or pretty much anything about internet-deals or Paypal conflicts are taken down here. The few callout threads re deals done on this board, are the exception lately, and they are more likely to disappear than even have time to be discussed on the mod/admin board.
But you see, (dont cry wolf.) yours was not deleted, anyone searching can find it, the help and links that were offered you are still there.

it's listed on craigslist apperantly for one , and for two you didn't have an asking price . Both in the rules as a reason for an add to be deleted . read that stuff and familiarize yourself with the classified rules .

I have read through some of these posts and the classified rules, but my ad still got deleted...twice. I understand the first time and that was my fault, I included a link to my craigslist ad for the bike that had a description and pictures so I didn't use the bandwidth on this site. The second time, I think the only thing I could have forgotten was the FS in the title...is that worth just deleting the ad? I wrote a long description, included several photos of the bike, included a price, etc. I do have the bike for sale on craigslist as well, but thought I would put it on here as well...I would rather it go to a good home. I didn't even mention CL on the second attempt. It takes a bit of time to resize pictures and type out descriptions, maybe a quick pm to the deleted poster letting them know why, instead of it just disappearing? Please let me know what I am doing wrong, a shot you a PM a couple days ago...but I know you must be a busy man.

And your question has the same answer as this other thread with the same title.
Our Classifieds are for our members' private ads, for sale here.
As stated in Ryan's original rules Sticky post, this is not the place for ebay or craigs sales. Either sell it there or sell it here, not both.
You post it with a link one day and without the link the next day, we are not stupid, we know it's still on craigs or ebay whatever the case is....
Sell it there or here, not both.

Did I do something wrong?
I listed my 1971 Harley Shovelhead for sale here this morning and now can't find it.
I thought we were allowed to list motorcycles for sale here.
