This is too good to be true! Killer graphics, too.

OK, enough blubbering. Obviously, it was time to drop the "Buick" from my name, so most of you know who I am...and I have a few inane questions, typically.

As some of you know, I picked up an old chopper a few weeks ago. I can't tell ya how much better it is to sit on the floor and screw around with the engine as opposed to bending over a fender. I wish I woulda spoent more time in my dad's Harley shop back in the 80s, but I digress.

Question: Anyone know of a good and reasonably price place to pick up old Ironhead parts? There's a million of 'em, but I'd like to get some first-hand good experiences as far as vendors go. I need a couple of lifter blocks, pushrod covers, top end gasket kit, .030 over rings for a 900cc, rocker covers...you get the picture. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again, Ryan. Er, could we get a Dodge Neon board, too?

Pick up catalogs from Paughco, CCI ,V- Twin, Jareh Cycles, J&P
Do some price comparisons. You wont find anything like that at your local HD dealership, unless that is a specialty for them. Jammer used to be a good place for that also. I think they might be back in business.
Also if you can get a factory parts manual to cross reference parts # that would be a big help.
I usually make a parts list with parts # and bring it to my local aftermarket shop and let him fill the order for me.

Hey fatass,

J&P has a catalog that has almost anything you can think of for an old Harley. They have the regular catalog for all the new stuff but they also have an entire catalog dedicated solely to the vintage stuff.

The best part (for me at least) is that they are based right here in Iowa and I can ride right up to their door and get whatever I want - whenever I want....

good luck to you though.

...ohh and BTW welcome newbie, ;)

fatcockbreath...

Mike, you sold the Buick? Neons are for fags and girls with bee sting boobies.

I went to my local HD dealer on a whim, and they ordered a few things from the J&P catalog at slightly lower prices and no shipping. I was actually a little surprised, and they gave me no attitude, even though it was a small purchase and for a Yamaha.

If you're anywhere near Lomita or Torrance, the HD dealer on PCH is great - talk to the young guy with sleeves in the service department.

Thanks for the tips, fellas...

Yeah, it's "The Fatass" from HRW, sorta like the Donald Trump of rusty shit and green beer. I sent you a PM, Sparky. The (former) little lady's swole all to hell with a young 'un.

I didn't think to call Greg. Congrats on the house, Ken. Drop me an email with your number (for the millionth time) and I'll give you a call next weekend.

El Cabeza del Caballo; You're gay. I wish you would finally just come out of the closet and quit fighting it so you could finally get that reach around from Randaddy that you've been longing for. And yeah, I traded the Buick for the Chopwad..I needed something new and we'd only driven the Buick 3 times in the year we've lived here.

Broman, I suck...I meant to send you that friggin' file. Working 7 days a week makes me stupid..or maybe it's the beer in between those days.

Three times, that's how many times you've probably been laid too.

Well, that's cool, maybe you'll get more time on the chop.

J&P's catalogs are way overpriced. Most of the same stuff in J&P's vintage catalog can be sourced through V-Twin. I get vintage stuff through V-Twin via Krooners, they give a pretty good discount off of the retail V-Twin catalog prices. J&P is a LAST LAST resort.

It has been a while since I bought from J&P but at that time, V-TWIN was waay over priced.

I don't know what to tell you other than "shit done changed." Take a look at recent prices in each and I think V-Twin's retail prices are already lower that J&P's, and even cheaper once you get a discount from your dealer.
