View Full Version : Etiquette for Tech Thread posting?

I've spent the last couple of months straightening, chopping, rebuilding, fabricating parts, and powdercoating an old tweaked springer front end and I'm taking lots of pictures and notes. I make no pretense at being an expert or anything more than an enthusiast, but I'd like to make a tech contribution to the board, and I have a couple of questions before I start posting.

First question is, should I start it right off in the tech section, or is it better to begin the thread in the discussion area and let the moderator move it if it is worthy?

Second question is, should I use a series of short posts showing the progress or try to wait for the finished project and put it all in a single post?

Third question, is this something that members would find interesting? It's all very exciting to me, but not sure if anyone else would care to know.

Thanks for any advise, I want to contribute but want to do it the right way.

There's not really any rules for tech-posts, but you have good questions.

1) The Tech Archives is a 'closed' board. You'll need to post it on the main board.

2) Pretty much whatever works best for you, it may be easier to do a series of shorter posts. Another factor, you are limited to 10 pics within one post.

3) By all means, this is exactly what we like and want to see.

Thanks for sharing !
