I have a 95 FLHTP and want to up-date the 9 spoke to a newer style front wheel off a 2000 + so I can be pimpin with the new wide white wall I have on the shelf. I don't want to go the b****t route, kind of against it on my scooter.
I think the axle size is different, so does that mean new bearings? Will they fit the hub? And iffin so is there a part number to ask for?
I searched the Horse couple weeks ago and didn't find anything specific to big baggers so I know the TJJB Gods will provide the needed wisdom.
Thanks

Be careful along with the axle being bigger, make sure it isnt longer too
there are fitment problems when doing this swap I believe.ie the calipers may be different. Im not sure of the year that they changed calipers. The triple trees are wider on the later model FLHs
check all this out
I have the big axle if you need it.
This swap may not be worth the effort

This sounds like it could be more of issue than its worth. Don't want to get into a front end change. I had a similar thing happen when I had my swing arm chromed on my 87 Softail, the chromer mixed it up and gave me back a newer one that cost me a new rear caliper because HD changed the caliper mount in 89 - I was pissed.
Thanks again Scott. Time to find one that fits the 95
