Has anyone out there stuck Kawisaki 500 pistons in a Suzuki? Bore and stroke is the same, the wrist pins are the same, but Kaw had some awsome porting. I don' have the money to grenade the complete engine so if anyone has really done this before advice is appreciated.

Parts is parts. I race 3 vintage flat tracker 2 strokes. Due to no new parts available or the fact that some new parts are just better, all of them have different rods and pistons in them and they work just fine. One is a HD MX 250 it has a Honda rod and a Polaris piston in it. My 250 Bultaco Astro has a Rotax rod out of a 500cc 3 cylinder snow mobile and a KTM piston in it. And my Kawasaki 350cc BIg Horn has a 380cc CZ piston in it and a rod out of a new 250cc Kawasaki. All were not direct "bolt on" replacements. some machining was required.

Internal cumbustion engines all pretty much work the same, so other parts should work fine. The only thing you can do is measure carefully and make shure you have good clearances on everything and give it a try. Yes it may blow up, but you can still blow it up with the original parts in it.

Hope this helps, Don

yes to what Don said,
He also mentioned the bore and pin size are the same, how about the location of the pin in reference to deck height?.
