View Full Version : main jet and slow jet wont come out

what do I do about that? Do I drill it? Pre CV Keihin carb off a sporty. SAT FOR YEARS....yeah got the re build kit have use solvent to cleen the sludge out, did the andrews accelerator pump kit as well. but that main jet is a bitch like its varnished in place all right.:mad:

yeah got the top nut out but damned those jets hangin on for dear life..gonna get it in the drill press next I swear. ..A guy on the quadcam bastards says he knows of an acid that willeat the brass and leave the aluminum. Im all for it. Got the super b on stand by.

Try heat and penatrating oil.Put the carb body on a hot plate for awhile.If that doesn't work and you decide to drill it out find a left hand drill bit.You might get lucky and the drill bit will grab the jet(s) and break it loose.Good luck.

heat is the way to go/ i also use gibbs penetrating oil its about the best you can get it helped alot while takin my 75year old bike apart// do a google for gibbs oil it expensive at $16 a can but worth it for old parts salvage

You can use heat here, with a little pen oil. Grab one of those super Crack smoking pen tourches from harbor frieght, real nice for getting into small areas. Careful about flame blow back in confined areas though. You can loose and eyebrow...dont ask how I know this, just trust me.
